Terms of Service
Last updated: 5 April 2025
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing and using PaidThenWhat ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of service
PaidThenWhat is a free UK tax calculator tool that helps users estimate their take-home pay, model salary sacrifice scenarios, and understand the impact of pension contributions, childcare schemes, and other tax-relevant factors. The Service is based on the 2025/26 UK tax year rules for England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
3. Not financial advice
The Service provides general financial information only. It does not constitute personalised financial, tax, or legal advice. Calculations are estimates based on standard tax codes and publicly available HMRC rates. They do not account for benefits in kind, previous tax year carry-forward, specific employer pension scheme rules, or individual circumstances.
You should always consult a qualified financial adviser, accountant, or tax professional before making financial decisions based on information from this tool.
4. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that calculations are accurate, complete, or up to date. Tax rules may change and we may not update the tool immediately. We are not liable for any losses or damages arising from your use of or reliance on the Service.
5. User accounts
You may use the calculator without creating an account. If you sign in with Google, you can save and load calculations. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account. We are not liable for any unauthorised access to your saved data.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the Service

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Service.
9. Changes to terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
